In my never-ending struggle to make things simpler on you guys (not to mention myself), I've REALLY simplified the cars area. I've converted all but the '99 and 2000 Alternative cars to tables. This accomplishes a few things. One, it cuts down load time. There really aren't many more graphics to load with the new design, but I'm going to try to avoid making you guys download TOO much at one time. I forget how long things take to D/L on an analog connection because I've had cable modem for almost a year. So, with the exception of the 2000 Alternative section, you'll have to click the 'View' link to see the car, which will pop-up in a new window automatically. The Alternative cars are cool enough that its worth downloading all the images. Besides, I wanna show them off. ;)

I"ve been asked over and over if I've ever sent any of my alternative paint schemes to any real Winston Cup teams. Well, the answer to that question is 'not yet'. One of these days I'll get off my butt and try sneding a few in, ya never know what might happen. ;)
I've also been asked about a million times 'how do I do it' and 'what program do you use?'. I use Paint Shop Pro 5 by
JASC. It's by far the most powerful graphics program for the money out there. PSP is simple but really powerful, and if you're resourceful, there's not much you can't do with it. All the graphics on this site are done with PSP as well. It's easier to master than Photoshop or CorelDraw, and its also compatible with all Photoshop filter packages, which I use endlessly for the various effects and unique aspects of my paint schemes. So run out, download the PSP demo, and practice, practice, practice!
As far as 'how I do it'... well, that's a little hard to explain. My painting process is a compilation of work-arounds and various mini-routines that I've developed to get a desired effect or look in the least amount of time with a minimal amount of work. I'm about half-way done with a long-promised tutorial that will explain how I do most of my tricks (but not all, I have to keep an edge somehow <G>) and I'm working on it steadily, so you should see it up very soon.
