Hello, Everyone!!!

Today was a pretty amazing milestone for Zach, he graduated from the Univerity of Pacific today! that's right, he's earned his Bachelor's in Trombone performance, and is now off to grad school at the Univerity of Minnesota in the fall! He got a great scholarship there with a great program, and he's really looking forward to more practice time, less "general ed", more chances to catch up with family back there, and lots and lots of Twins games. =)

I took bunches of pictures (and movies!) and I've got just a handful to show today, but will be adding a bunch more tomorrow (it's late!)

The commencement for the entire college was in the morning, here at the Alex G. Spanos pavilion - AKA - the basketball gym. Good thing, too, it was HOT outside (mid 90s!)
Here's a pretty good shot of the commencement festivities. Zach was in the back with the concert band, playing away -- as usual.
And there he is after commencement. Pretty happy for a guy who hadn't actually got his diploma yet (that'd be in the afternoon ceremony for the Conservatory of Music).
Here's the consevatory of music ceremony in the concert hall later in the day. This is the one where he actually got his diploma. No, I don't have a picture of it (yet)
I don't have a picture because I was busy taking a MOVIE... ;)

More pictures, movies, and details about the Friends & Family concert coming your way soon!

Greetings, Zach fans!

Holy, moly, we had a sparse period, there, didn't we? Summer flies, folks! But Z is back in school for his senior year with a full courseload and a little bit less hair (somehow one equalizes the other out metaphysically or something, I can't explain it)

I've got a new design for this site in the works, and we've got the next two gigs posted, but more are on the way!

For now, I'll leave you with a little video of a duet he's working on with fellow trombone virtuoso-to-be and UOP student, Bonnie.

Here's the cool thing, the performance for this little ditty is in 2 weeks, and shortly after, we'll have an audio recording, so you can see how it all turned out. ;)

That's all for now folks! Stay tuned for more concert times and a new design for the site!

Hello!

Has it really been 3 months since I updated this? I'm terribly sorry!. So much has happened! Zach's done his Bass Trombone recital, and added a new tenor horn to his collection!

I took some videos of the recital with my digital camera, and am still trying to get them converted to work on the web. Hang in there! I'll have some video soon!

Z is planning a tenor recital for some time in August, so stay tuned for that!

Lastly, we have a new and updated "commercial" from our cousin Wade Jensen! Check it out:

Hey Gang!

Z's Bass Trombone recital has moved... again. ;) Seems piano accompyanists actually need time to practice the music, so... the recital will now be on Friday, March 28th @ 7:30 PM at the recital hall at UOP.

That's all for now!

Hello!

Zach and the Symphonic Wind Ensemble have returned from their whirlwind tour of the upper mid-west. They had a ball, played a TON, and now they're back at school starting the spring semester.

Zach's decided to do two Senior recitals... one for Bass Trombone (which he was planning to do all along but has now been moved UP to March 2nd) and another one for Tenor Trombone, which is tentatively scheduled for April 13th. We're still working on a location to hold the 4/13 recital, so stay tuned!

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2008!

Finals week is over, and Zach's starting off 2008 with a bang. His Symphony Wind Ensemble (SWE) group is touring Oregon and Washington state this week, playing gigs at high schools and such all over the place. If you're in the area, or will be in the area, swing by and check them out! It's a great group with a lot of talented young people playing. They tend to pick FANTASTIC music, as well. I've been to a number of the SWE concerts and they were excellent.

Zach also wanted me to put in a big plug for his upcoming Senior Recital, otherwise known as "all Zach, all the time". This is the music equivalent of a senior thesis, where Zach arranges and organizes his own concert. He picks the music, and plays mostly solos. Here's video of his Junior Recital from last year, just to give you a taste.

(These videos require Internet Explorer, sorry). The Recital is on April 27th at 5:00PM at the Recital Hall on campus (at University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA). If you can make it, definitely come by! It's great!

Happy Holidays, everyone! Real quick update today.

It's Finals week this week, so not many concerts going on. He is playing for a Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve next week. I'll post info on that as soon as I have it. =)

Hey Everyone! Added a new gig to the upcoming events section. Zach and I will be working on this website over the next few weeks, as he wraps up his last bit of the fall semester. If you're in the Fairfield area, make sure not to miss his performance on Sunday, December 16th. Should be a great show with the Solano Symphony!

Welcome to Zach's all-new website! I - his big brother Jaim - have built this website to allow friends and family to keep up with Zach's progress, find out more about him, and if he has a gig coming to a town near you, maybe you can catch him playing!

You can see his upcoming gigs/events on the left, and news will be located here. Enjoy!

Love ya, brother. :)
